The status of Brandon Marshall, Tony Scheffler, and Elvis Dumervil are just three players in limbo until Free Agency, with Dumervil the only one of those three likely to return although McDaniels says they are just signatures away from a new contract with Marshall.

The Chiefs came out and slapped the Broncos in the face with heavy dose of reality. The first half was a shoot out with both teams moving the ball well. Going into half time it seemed the game was going to go down to the wire, this unfortunately was not the case. The Broncos had three interceptions, one going into the end zone for a pick six. The Broncos continued to keep the game close until the end of the third quarter and that’s when the Chiefs slammed the door on any hopes of a Broncos win.

The Eagles will be relying on star QB Donovan McNabb and break out receiver DeSean Jackson. Jackson leads the league with 19.4 yards per reception and has the ability to change the game all on his own. Denver also has a star receiver in Brandon “The Beast” Marshall, who is second in the NFL in receptions at 93. The one thing Denver does not have is a QB who can win a scoring shot out. Kyle Orton is a fair to good system QB, but lacks big play potential that is needed to deliver a come from behind win. One thing that would help the Broncos in Sunday’s game is if RB Correll Buckhalter and safety Renaldo Hill can return to active status. Coach Josh McDaniels had said that he is hopeful that both players can return for Sunday’s game.

The Broncos offense did get a late drive going in the final seconds of the game that resulted with an expired clock due to the great effort of the Raiders D and their ability to hold Tony Scheffler without a delay of game penalty. Had the penalty been called the clock would have stopped and yards would have been tacked onto the end of the play, giving the Broncos a shot at a game winning field goal. However these were the 4-9 Oakland Raiders and the Broncos should have never placed themselves in a position to depend on a field goal to start with.
